La Cocina

El próximo 24 de mayo a las 20 horas se inaugura el proyecto "Falcón espacio creativo" con una exposición del artista ovetense Álvarez Cabrero.  Habrá una lectura de algunos textos del libro "Mensaje de un mundo dibujado" de la editorial Septem y coordinado por el escritor Antonio Valle. Allí estaré para leer mi aportación a ese libro, que se basó en este "En la cocina". Este es el texto:

La Cocina

Crucé la invisible línea al fin. Había tardado demasiado tiempo. Llevaba a cuestas demasiadas resacas y cada día me costaba más trabajo levantarme. El hoyo que había ido cavando a través de todos estos años era cada vez más profundo. Tras las tormentas no llegó la calma sino la desazón de comprobar que la única salida era seguir cavando más hondo. Más y más, hasta no ver la luz del día. Cavé y cavé y sólo pude contemplar más oscuridad en las profundidades. Más dolor. Hasta que, al final del túnel, una luz se encendió. Quiso brillar aún más. Ahora corría, como un poseso, hacia ella, hacia ella. ¿Qué habría al llegar? No me importó. Corrí entre galerías de tierra mientras las ratas saltaban a mi paso. Aquella mina era realmente profunda. Los roedores se colgaban de mis harapos y mordían mis brazos y mis piernas, mientras pugnaba por no detener mi carrera hacia esa luz cada vez más cercana. Tropecé varias veces pero me volví a levantar. Notaba la calidez de la luz y el hedor de la humedad remitía con cada nueva zancada.
Al fin, la luz me cegó con todo su esplendor. Apenas percibía el dolor de mis brazos y piernas ensangrentados, sólo deseaba que mis ojos pudieran acostumbrarse lo más rápido posible a aquel refulgente resplandor. Pasó tiempo, no sé cuánto, hasta que pude divisar un ascensor frente a mí. Abrí la puerta de hierro y subí a él. La puerta se cerró con un sonido metálico y la ascensión me pareció envuelta en un fulgurante destello. Cuando se detuvo, percibí una sensación de bienestar. Las heridas de mis brazos y mis piernas habían desaparecido. Apenas si recordé errores del pasado. Las zanjas del corazón se cubrieron de repente al observar el rostro de la mujer que, con un dulce gesto, me invitaba a entrar. Y atravesé el pequeño umbral que conducía a aquella habitación donde un perro lamía mi mano al tiempo que movía con frenesí su cola. Las lágrimas inundaban mi rostro por la emoción, apenas pude sonreír cuando ella me ofreció una taza de una humeante sopa que me pareció el manjar más preciado del mundo. En el pequeño equipo de música se podía escuchar el "Let love in" de Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. Me abracé a ese tantas veces soñado cuerpo y comencé a bailar al extraño ritmo de la canción mientras ella acercaba su rostro al mío. El aroma de su piel me embriagó y supe que, en ese instante, comenzaba un nuevo viaje lejos de las tierras del dolor.
